Rice water

Rice Water is one of the beauty secrets for Women. Most of us donโ€™t know that the ordinary natural product, “Rice Water” can be used to maintain the beauty of our skin. It also has been used as a natural beauty home remedy for ages by women of different countries. It is one of the oldest beauties used to make your skin look glowing and fresh.

Rice water is rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals. It also contains anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. It is chemical free and is fresh Here are two easy procedures to make your rice water instantly at home. You can use any type if rice to make it 

Method 1: Non-boiled rice water: To make rice water, first rinse the rice to remove any dirt or impurities. Place the rice in a bowl and cover with water. Ideally 2 (two) tablespoons of plain rice can be soaked in 6 (six) tablespoons of water. Then let the rice soak for 10 to 15 minutes. 

Now strain out the rice water into a clean bowl. Your rice water is ready to use. You can use this two to three days at a time. You can also store it in a refrigerator. This is called the diluted Rice Water. 

Method 2: Boiled rice water: To make boiled rice water, you will have to cook rice like we do every day.  After the rice has been cooked, strain the excess water out in the tumbler. This water will be a highly concentrated cloudy and thicker liquid. Pour it into a jar and cool it.

This Rice Water can be kept in the refrigerator for a week. Remember to dilute it with water before use.  Rice water can be used on all skin types such as dry, oily or normal skin.  Rice water has a number of benefits to offer for your skin and hair.

Skin Toner: The Rice water is an excellent skin tone. It helps in keeping the skin smooth and glowing can use this as a face toner. It will gradually improve your skin tone. Damp the cotton in rice water and apply on your face. Let it air dry. Make ice cubes as usual (you can use a little honey), and use it whenever you like. This will tighten your skin.

For sunburn: For sun protection and anti-aging, it is good to time your face and balance your PH levels. This also gives you a small amount of sun protection. Rice water is also used for cooling inflammations and burnt skin. It will help your skin recover fast and prevent further damage. You can treat sun burn and even remove sun tan with method 2 Rice Water. You can even add a little aloe Vera gel (fresh/store bought) and it will give you a soothing relief and calm your skin burn.

For acne and the pore size: Rice water can be used to minimize pores, acne and dark scars. Apply it on the acne area by using a cotton ball. The redness effect will gradually be reduced. The ugly pores give an unhealthy look to your skin. Damp a cotton ball into the rice water and apply it on your skin. The rice water acts as an astringent and thus tightens the pores, making it appear smaller. It firms up the pores as well.

For the treatment of eczema: The starch components help in dealing with eczema. Boil the rice with water. Cool the water and apply on the affected area. Regular application will treat eczema.

Brightening skin: Rice water is far more beneficial than those artificial products which claim to lighten and brighten up your skin. Use Rice water as a regular face wash to get that glow on your face.

As hair mask: For years it has been used as a shampoo and conditioner. The only difference was the fact that this one was free of chemicals. It contains instill which improves hair elasticity and prevents damage. Besides this, massaging your scalp with rice water helps in strengthening your hair from the roots. You can use rice water as hair mask to get that long silky shiny hair. Pour the rice water on your hair and scalp, such that it reaches to the scalp. Let it stay there for 20 minutes. Wash it with normal water. Shampoo and apply conditioner to it. 

Rice water is also recommended by doctors and Ayurveda. Please do not apply the hot rice water to your skin, as it might burn or cause rashes to the skin.
