Spooky Night

By Safwana Rahman

It was a spooky night

I hoped for things to be alright.

A poltergeist entered my house

But he averted himself when he saw a mouse!

I ran away and hid behind the bushes in the park

But he could still see me because it wasn’t really dark.

I wished the ghost was out of my way

Now when would I go home? I could not say.

I realized his fear regarding the mouse

I knew I could find it a lot in the farmhouse.

So I made my way and the ghoul followed

When I swung the mouse in front of him, a gulp he swallowed.

He ran away and never came back

The mouse was the weapon to attack

A diabolical poltergeist as him

And I took the pleasure of watching him run away and scream.
